The preschool years are the greatest time of learning in your child’s life.  During this short time, your child’s brain blossoms like no other time in their life.  Behind seemingly normal activities and play, the brain is in a race to develop the language, associative, analytic, and social skills needed for lifelong success.  As unique as this once in a lifetime growth period is, the way a preschooler learns is equally unique.  At Camelback Holistic Preschool, our holistic, “teach the whole child”, discovery environment is designed for the way your child learns and avoids over focusing on rote learning technique more appropriate for older children and adults.

While a learning environment structured for teachers maximizes efficiency and profits for the school, research and experience shows that a program focused on the preschoolers’ growth in cognitive reasoning, through individual and group experiences, maximizes future success.  At CHP or goal is to work with you and your child to develop both their academic intellect, their physical self, their social skills, and their emotional discipline.

The learning environment is a critical component of high-quality early childhood education.  The aim of an intentional and engaging learning environment is to promote a sense of wonder, exploration, investigation, and interest in a rich range of materials, resources, and opportunities in which the child can engage.  Our learning environment also motivates and creates opportunities for children to learn and develop skills. It aims to assist with the acquisition of skills and learning for children. Play is used as an effective instructional strategy. Through play in a content-rich environment, children not only develop social and motor skills, but also begin to make sense of the world around them, building the foundations they will need to become capable, enthusiastic learners, and responsible, healthy adults.
